Job Description :Our client is looking for a Project Estimator to support a Transmission Program Management team in Edmonton. The successful candidate will help plan and execute multiple high-voltage transmission projects, with responsibilities spanning cost estimating, quantity take-offs, contractor estimate reviews, cost and schedule monitoring, and support for transmission and substation projects. The role is hybrid in Edmonton and is best suited for someone with 5+ years of estimating experience in construction, electric transmission, power utilities, or heavy civil infrastructure.

Must Have Primary Skills :
  • Diploma or degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related discipline 
  • 5+ years of estimating experience in contruction, electric transmission, power utilities, or heavy civil infrastructure 
  • Valid class 5 divers liscence for field visits within edmonton
  • Ability to perform services at the Edmonton work location / hybrid environment 
  • Ability to complete Construction safety training system (CSTS) within one month of contract execution


Nice To Have Secondary Skills :
  • Proven experience estimating high-voltage transmission and/or substation projects
  • P.Eng., C.E.T. or equivalent professional designation
  • Experience working in a regulated transmission utility environment 
  • Familiarity with Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) capital governance processes


Proven Experience In :
  • Develop cost estimates for transmission and substation projects
  • Review drawings, specifications, and scopes of work
  • Complete quantity take offs and estimate labor, equipment, and materials 
  • Identify cost risks, assumptions, escalation, and contingencies 
  • Review contractor estimates, tenders, and change orders
  • Maintain cost models and Basis of Estimate documentation
  • Support budgeting, AUC filings, and post-project reviews
