Job Description :Our client in Edmonton, AB is currently looking for a Server Storage Infrastructure Operations Lead.

Must Have Primary Skills :
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing and organizations’ server and storage infrastructure environment.
- Extensive experience in server and storage infrastructure operation management, with a proven track record of leading teams and managing large-scale environments.
- Experience managing managed service providers and vendor resources, including contract negotiation and performance management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft, VMware, Cisco, AWS) are highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in the following technical areas:
*Server Virtualization: Expertise in virtualization technologies preferably VMware vSphere, including experience with virtual machine management, resource allocation, and performance optimization.
*Cloud Computing: Experience in cloud platforms preferably AWS, including experience with cloud-based infrastructure design, deployment, and management.
*Storage Solutions: In-depth knowledge of SAN (Storage Area Network), NAS (Network Attached Storage), and DAS (Direct Attached Storage) solutions, including technologies such as Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NFS, and SMB.
*Backup and Recovery: Experience with enterprise backup solutions (e.g., Avamar, Veeam, and Data Domain) and disaster recovery planning, including replication technologies and data recovery strategies.
*Operating Systems: Strong understanding of server operating systems, including Windows Server, Linux (preferably Red Hat) with expertise in configuration, management, and troubleshooting.
*Automation and Orchestration: Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or PowerShell scripting, and experience in automating deployment and configuration tasks.
*Networking: Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls, load balancers, and network security as they relate to server and storage infrastructure.
*Security and Compliance: Understanding of security best practices, including encryption, access control, and vulnerability management, with experience in ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., CIS, NIST, GDPR).

This role involves providing technical leadership to a team of infrastructure professionals comprised of employees, contractors and Managed Service Provider resources, developing best practices and standards, implementing operational processes, and fostering innovation to optimize infrastructure performance, reliability, and security. The Lead collaborates with stakeholders to align infrastructure initiatives with business goals and objectives, driving continuous improvement and delivering high-quality services to support the organization's overall success.
