Job Description :Our Calgary-based client is looking for an Excel VBA Developer to join their team for a full time, permanent role.

Must Have Primary Skills :
  • Expert level Excel VBA development
  • Experience working with and developing solutions in Visual Studio
  • Ability to understand and improve code written by others.  Significant experience supporting and debugging macro driven Excel sheets
  • Moderate SQL skills and experience in working on RDBMS technologies preferably Oracle or SQL Server
  • Experience working with web services (SOAP, REST) would be preferable
  • Ability to deliver software within agreed deadlines
  • Strong understanding of Agile SDLC methodology and continuous integration platforms
  • Expert in test driven development


Nice To Have Secondary Skills :
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills in English and ability to communicate technical concepts
  • Having worked in a commodities trading environment would be desirable and advantageous


Proven Experience In :
  • Partnering with the Solution Architecture Team (SATs), Business Analysts and QA teams to deliver quality engineered software.
  • Ensuring adherence governance as set out by Architecture and Engineering teams
  • Ensure compliance with standard tooling and software evaluation process
  • Engage with the QA teams to ensure functional and non-functional testing is addressed
  • Ensure software can be characterised in conjunction with business non-functional requirements
  • Ensure all software is unit tested and documented
  • Ensure all development is maintained in software version controls.
